PNG High Court to hear SLIP Rule, Stay Order Applications
A full Supreme Court's bench will today (Tuesday) hear the Slip Rule and A Stay application filed by the Attorney General Pila Niningi regarding the Supreme Court's decision on December 9 that ordered parliament to reconvene.
Justice Derek Hartson adjourned the matter after hearing the applications this afternoon by the Attorney General's lawyer Nemo Yalo.
The Slip Rule application is seeking a review of the Supreme Court's decision in declaring the recalling of Parliament Sitting on November 17 and the subsequent passing of the 2021 National Budget unconstitutional.
Niningi earlier says his lawyer had viewed that the Supreme Court had slipped in its decision.
The Stay Application seeks to stay the Parliament Sitting while the matter is before the court.
The hearing will be held at 9:30am today.
