PNG Defence Force Soldiers to be sent to Military Institutions in the United States for Training
The Papua New Guinea Defence Force will be sending seven (7) cadet officers to military institutions in the United States, which include the iconic US naval college.
PNGDF Commander Major General Gilbert Toropo said other cadets will be sent to military colleges and institutions in Australia and New Zealand.
Commander Toropo thanked the Defense cooperation partners - Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, and the US for opening such opportunities for PNGDF officer cadets.
''We have just finalized the officer cadet recruitment selection, and out of that selection, we will identify seven officers to go to Officer Cadet Institutions in the USA.
''We have been offered six (6) spaces in the US Naval College and one (1) space offered in the US Coast Guard," said Toropo.
The other 10 officers will also be sent to Australia, and the New Zealand military institutions respectively.
