PNG Court Orders Police to reinstate Sylvester Kalaut
PNG's Waigani National Court has quashed the decision of the police hierarchy terminating the employment of former Assistant Commissioner Police Sylvester Kalaut.
The court ruled today, the decision reached on the 19th of March 2020 was unlawful.
It also found there is no evidence of impediment preventing the re-employment of Mr. Kalaut.
The Office of the Police Commissioner is now ordered to reinstate Mr. Sylvester Kalaut forthwith to his substantive position of Assistant Commissioner Police, Human Resource.
Mr. Kalaut representing himself in this Court Proceeding echoed the importance of why, maintaining the standard and processes in all public office is important, at all times.
