PNG Students studying in USA mourn for Late Sir Michael Thomas Somare
Papua New Guinea Students studying in the United States mourn for late Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare. Last Friday, PNG students at the Andrews University Campus in Berrien Springs, Michigan, United States of America gathered together to mourn for the death of Michael Somare, the founding father of the Independent state of Papua New Guinea.
According to student Peter Barnabas, the students reflected on his [Sir Somare's] life and contributions to the development of our nation. We join our brothers and sisters back in PNG for the loss of an esteemed statesman and share our condolences to the Somare clan and the Sepik community for the life and leadership of this great man.
We share our sorrow with lady Veronica and children and grandchildren and Sepik community the loss of your husband, father and grandfather.
