Port Moresby Hospital To Open New Cancer Facility with Latest Cancer Treatment Equipment
The Port Moresby General Hospital’s Cancer facility is expected to be fully operational by early 2022.
This is through the Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited’s Community Benefit Fund of K10 million, presented to the Hospital by Managing Director Wapu Sonk recently.
The Hospital’s Executive Officer Dr. Paki Molumi, says the facility already has two bunkers completed to house the two linear accelerator machines.
Dr. Molumi, explains the cancer treatment bunkers that have already been completed by internationally recognized designers from the United States.
''We have already purchased one of the latest cancer machines from the US which will be used at the new facility,'' said Dr. Molumi.
Dr. Molumi says, there are plans also for a nuclear medicine department, at this facility.
