PNG PM Marape urges people to respect Election process

Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape landed in an overcast Alotau this morning to endorse support for his Pangu Pati candidates in Milne Bay province.

He described Milne Bay, a place of original mindsets of uniting a party into sovereignty had started, making mention of the province's leaders in the likes of Sir John Guise, Sir Cecil Abel and Sir Kingsford Dibela.

Pangu is endorsing five candidates in Milne Bay - one a sitting MP in Isi Henry Leonard defending his Samarai-Murua Open seat, Jimmy Maladina for Esa'ala Open, Bede Tomokita for Kiriwina-Goodenough Open and two females in Regional candidate Jennifer Rudd and Alotau Open candidate Natasha Panta.

The Prime Minister urged people to allow and more importantly, respect the election process, urging they be mindful of and allow freedom for all contesting candidates to campaign and disseminate plans and policies for raising their hands to lead.

Mr. Marape will also travel to the inland areas of Agaun, Rabaraba and Tarakwaruru of Alotau District and to Esa'ala if time permits.
