Pacnews reports while expressing shock about her induction, 38-year-old Toua says she has been doing weightlifting for more than 20 years, adding it was an honour to be inducted.

Ms. Toua, who first competed in the 1999 South Pacific Games hosted by Guam,  also won her 13th title overall in the Oceania Weightlifting Championships which coincided with the 2022 Pacific Mini Games.

She says the Mini Games will help her prepare for the Commonwealth Games which Birmingham in London will host next month.

In the Saipan Pacific Mini Games, Toua won gold in the snatch, 74kg; clean & jerk, 96kg;  for a total weight of 170kg.

Ms Toua also bagged a gold medal in the Oceania Weightlifting Championships.

She says the Mini Games have brought up the standard in the Pacific because the accommodation is brilliant.
