PNG Politics : James Marape to set up Camp in Wewak

PNG Prime Minister and Tari-Pori Member-elect, James Marape, says he will be heading to Wewak, East Sepik Province to set up camp when he returns from the Pacific Islands Forum in Fiji.

He says Wewak has been chosen for Pangu Camp to honour the founding father of the nation Late Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare, as he is rested there.

Mr. Marape says if Pangu is invited to form the next government, the party has plans to improve the voting system and other structures of government going forward.

"All my current coalition partners have given indication of the support to remain in Government. But we respect their choices. Pangu will give respect to their choices."

"They have all choices to make, even up till government formation time. But we will not wait on anyone."

"For me, as I come back from the Pacific Islands Forum meeting in Fiji, I will straight relocate into Wewak and we will setup camp there."

"For any members who want to join us, certainly most welcome to join us but I will be making some statement of sort before I leave for the Pacific Islands Forum in a few days," said Mr. Marape.
