PNG Election : Wenge Leads Morobe Regional Seat Race
Counting for the Morobe Regional Seat has finally started it's eliminations, after going through three quality checks.

Morobe Provincial Returning Officer and Election Manager Simon Soheke, says that this is because they wanted to do proper checks before they go into eliminations.
After the first exclusion, People's Labour Party candidate and former Governor Luther Wenge is leading with 79, 394 votes, and on second is Kemas Tomala. a United Labour Party candidate with 56, 487 votes.
Running third is incumbent Governor and PANGU Party candidate Ginson Saonu with 28, 244 votes and fourth is woman candidate and People's Movement for Change Party sponsored candidate, Jennifer Baing with 19, 796 votes.
Counting was suspended after 1 AM this morning and will resume later today.
