Principal Porgera Mine Landowner Maso Karipe becomes pioneer MP elect
A Special Mining Lease (SML) principal landowner of the giant Pogera gold mine in Papua New Guinea is now the pioneer MP elect for the newly created Paiela-Pogera Open Electorate in Enga Province.
Independent candidate Hon.Maso Karipe polled a total of 15,272 votes after the the 25th elimination of Vincent Pyati to surpass the absolute majority of 14,086 this evening at the Wabag Primary School Counting Venue in the heart of Wabag Town.
Another independent candidate and SML landowner Dickson Puri Pundi finished second with 12,974 votes while Vincent Pyati came third with 10,309 votes.
Hon.Karipe's first mission is to bring back normalcy in the trouble torn golden valley before pushing for the reopening of the giant Pogera gold mine.
