Mt Hagen To have second BSP Branch at Dobel

Mt Hagen city in Western Highlands Province now has it's second Bank South Pacific (BSP) Branch at Dobel, which is planned to be opened by July next year.


The ground breaking ceremony was held  at Dobel Commercial Development Centre opposite Tininga, witnessed by Governor Wai Rapa, BSP Chairman Sir Kostas Constantinou, and CEO Robert Fleming along with Managing Directors of Steamships and Tininga Limited.

Governor Wai Rapa also assured business houses that security of their assets were important, hence law and order would be his first priority as governor as he works with the PPC.

Representatives of business houses Tininga, BSP and Steamships along with the governor also thank the people of Yamka tribe for releasing their land for the benefit of rest of Western Highlands and country at large.

BSP Chairman Sir Kostas Constantinou mentioned during the ground breaking today, that the new banking complex is expected to be open by July next year.

Sir Constantinou said Western Highlands Province is a key contributor to PNGs economy from the Highlands region, and having a second branch in Mt Hagen was fitting to meet the number of growing customers and serve the people better.

BSP will be building a double storey fully suited modern banking facility, which comes with other client services including four (4) Automated Teller Machines (ATMs).

Meanwhile, Governor Wai Rapa also thanked BSP and business houses for their investment in Western Highlands Province assured them that maintaining law and order would be his top priority.

He called on the local Yamka community to take ownership of the developments taking place on their land, while thanking them for releasing their land for the benefit of Western Highlands and rest of the country.

He also announced that Dobel will develop into a town, due to the establishment of major business houses and with a new BSP Branch.
