PNG Trade Minister Maru Welcomes Australia's Support for Special Economic Zones in PNG
Papua New Guinea's Minister for International Trade and Investment, Richard Maru has welcomed the Australian Government’s support to work with Papua New Guinea on the development of Special Economic Zones or SEZs in the country.
Minister Maru appreciated the offer during his meeting with the Australian High Commissioner to PNG, Jon Philp in Port Moresby.
Maru has been in plans to work with the Australian Government and investors in the Manus Special Economic Region and the Western Province SEZ.
He's keen on working with the Australian Government and investors to look into the development of the feed industry, cotton industry, cattle industry, and chicken industry of PNG.
Maru is adamant PNG needs more competition across all industries and new industries to replace imports, create jobs, and create wealth for its citizens.
