Air Niugini welcomes arrival of the awaited Boeing 737-800
Air Niugini has welcomed the arrival of the awaited Boeing 737-800 . The aircraft was flown in from Singapore to a small reception at the Jackson’s International Terminal, last week.
Combing the longest range, lowest fuel consumption and the widest cabin in the 100-150 seat category, the Boeing 737-800 will be operated by Air Niugini across its domestic and regional network.
The new fleet will deliver more capacity and greater reliability across the domestic network and enable the carrier to fly from capital Port Moresby to new destinations across the Asia Pacific Region.
This is first of an expected 6 planes to be received by Air Niugini and PNG.
Air Niugini’s first Boeing 737-800 has no faulty engines as social media rumours or punctures claims. The aircraft was of complete with engines perfect running in order There wasn't faulty, and no money was spent on engines and was maintained perfectly to Boeing 737-800 specification.
Rumours circulated by social media punctures that it will cost Air Niugini US$10m per month for lease is COMPLETELY FAKE NEWS. The 737-800 aircraft touched down in the Kumul livery is with Air Niugini for 6years. It will leave when it is approximately 15years old – the same age as when Qantas is retiring its aircraft. Air Niugini is NOT paying US$10m per month, this is more fake news.
Acting Chief Executive Officer, Gary Seddon confirmed that “We are just getting it registered for PNG.”
Mr Seddon further clarified that the cancellation of the purchase of Dash 8-Q400 last month was due to the substandard quality of the aircraft.
