Coca-Cola Partners with Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League as Exclusive Beverage Sponsor
Coca-Cola in Papua New Guinea is excited to announce a groundbreaking partnership with the Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League (PNGRFL), becoming the Exclusive Beverage Partner for the PNG National Rugby League Competition (PNGNRLC). This collaboration promises to bring more fun, excitement, and refreshing moments to everyone involved.
Rugby league is a national passion in Papua New Guinea, and Coca-Cola, alongside local bottler Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, aims to enhance game days with this new partnership.
“We're ecstatic to join forces with PNGRFL and bring some extra fizz to every game,” said Rachel Nainggolan, Senior Brand Manager at Coca-Cola Papua New Guinea. “Rugby league in PNG isn't just a sport—it's a celebration. And we want every celebration to be as memorable and refreshing as possible.”
Over the next year, Coca-Cola will be the go-to drink at all Digicel ExxonMobil Cup games, offering a full range of non-alcoholic ready-to-drink beverages. The partnership grants Coca-Cola exclusive pouring, selling, and sampling rights, along with numerous planned activations.
“Coca-Cola will be spreading cheer on every match day, quenching your thirst, and creating unforgettable experiences. Watching your favorite teams play just got a whole lot better!” said Gabriel Manoi, Head of Brand & Channel at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners PNG. “Get ready to spot our vibrant Coca-Cola signage at playing venues, reminding everyone that we're all in this together. Our presence at these games is all about supporting what Papua New Guineans love most — rugby league.”
Coca-Cola is also rolling out special hospitality perks, including corporate boxes in Port Moresby and Lae, as well as general admission ticket giveaways for each match. Whether fans are looking to enjoy the game in style or simply cheer from the stands, Coca-Cola has them covered.
“This partnership is set to bring new energy and excitement to the sport we love,” said Stanley Hondina, CEO of PNGRFL. “Coca-Cola’s involvement will make every game a community celebration.”
The partnership begins with a one-year agreement, with the potential for future extensions. Both Coca-Cola and PNGRFL are planning bright futures together, filled with fun activities and surprises for fans.
