SP PNG Hunters Aim for 6th Spot with Crucial Match Against Falcons
The PNG Hunters have a chance to climb to 6th place on the QRL Hostplus Cup points table with a win against the Sunshine Coast Falcons this Sunday. The Hunters already have two points secured from a bye next week after the Falcons game.
Both teams currently share 22 points on the ladder, with the Falcons holding a 91-point difference advantage and sitting in 6th place, while the Hunters trail in 7th.

Following two consecutive victories, there is a positive atmosphere in the Hunters' camp. Coach Paul Aiton expressed satisfaction with the players' attitude and work ethic, praising their hard work despite external challenges. Aiton stated he is enjoying the season, feeling fortunate to coach a dedicated and easy-to-manage group of players.
“This weekend’s round 19 clash is a big game for us, especially away from home, but we expect nothing but the best as always,” Aiton said.
On the injury front, Aiton confirmed that Valentine Richard is out with a nose injury, while Robert Mathias is unavailable due to an ongoing visa issue. However, Captain Ila Alu is expected to return from a concussion, and Clent Lama is set to rejoin the side after recovering from an ankle injury.
The Hunters are determined to give their best performance as they aim for a crucial victory that could significantly improve their standing in the competition.
