A Memorandum of Agreement signed to start the Catholic run Teachers College in Milne Bay Province

A collaboration between the Milne Bay Provincial Government and the Catholic Church, which provided land for the college, has made this project possible. The partnership underscores a commitment to enhance teacher education and local educational opportunities.

The newly formed governing council, chaired by the provincial administrator, has begun organizing subcommittees to ensure the smooth operation of the college. Initial enrollment will be restricted to students from within the province, allowing the college to establish its foundations in its inaugural years.

Once operational, the Milne Bay Teachers College will become the province’s second tertiary institution, joining the St. Barnabas School of Nursing in expanding higher education options for Milne Bay residents.
