Hon. Rainbo Paita has rejoined the Government along with members of OUR Pati, a move that Prime Minister James Marape has warmly welcomed. Marape described the decision as a step toward strengthening the coalition and fostering national unity.
Speaking after the announcement, Marape emphasized that every Member of Parliament has the constitutional right to decide their political affiliations. He acknowledged the provisions in the national constitution, which guarantee freedoms of thought, expression, assembly, and political participation, and urged everyone to respect the MPs' choice.

The Prime Minister expressed his readiness to collaborate with the returning MPs, highlighting their previous contributions to his administration. He noted that the reunion brings much-needed stability as the Government prepares to conclude its work for 2024 and focus on the nation’s 50th Independence Anniversary celebrations next year.
Marape commended Paita for his humility and leadership, noting that instead of engaging in divisive politics, Paita chose to contribute constructively to the country's progress. He praised Paita for bringing 14 MPs back into the Government fold, enhancing its ability to govern effectively.
The Prime Minister further emphasized the role of younger PNG leaders in promoting forgiveness, unity, and national development. He contrasted this approach with what he described as the outdated, divisive politics practiced by some opposition figures.
Marape concluded by reiterating his commitment to working with all coalition partners, including OUR Pati, to advance constructive politics and national progress. He said their return signals a positive step toward achieving stability and unity in the country.
