Two PNG Kapuls Internationals Sign with Bendigo City FC in Melbourne
Papua New Guinea internationals Emmanuel Simon and Yagi Yasasa have arrived safely in Melbourne to join Bendigo City FC for the upcoming National Premier League Victoria 2 season.
According to player agent and former PNG forward George Slefendorfas, both players are set to begin training with their new club as they prepare for the competitive Victoria 2 league. Slefendorfas, who has Papua New Guinean and Lithuanian heritage, was part of the PNG national team in the early 1970s and is now based in Melbourne, Australia.

Slefendorfas operates Player Pin Management, an agency dedicated to creating pathways for young footballers aspiring to play internationally. He stated that he first met Simon and Yasasa when the PNG national team was training in Brisbane and has since been eager to support their careers abroad. He highlighted his own experience in semi-professional football, having played for 11 years in Australia, Sweden, and New Zealand, before retiring.
Emphasizing the importance of such opportunities, Slefendorfas expressed his commitment to helping talented PNG players push their limits and advance their careers. Meanwhile, the PNG Football Association welcomed the move, stating that international exposure would be invaluable in enhancing the skills and experience of local players.
