PNG's Airline Air Niugini Partners with Airbus for A220 Fleet Maintenance
PORT MORESBY – Air Niugini has entered a long-term Flight Hour Services (FHS) agreement with Airbus to maintain its new fleet of 11 A220 aircraft. The power-by-the-hour contract provides integrated component services such as on-site stock, access to a global parts pool and repair support.
The signing took place in Port Moresby during the arrival of the airline’s first A220 from Mirabel, Canada. Present were Airbus Asia-Pacific President Anand Stanley and Air Niugini’s Officer In Charge and Acting Chief Operating Officer Captain Samiu Taufa.
Captain Taufa said the deal marks a significant milestone for both the airline and Papua New Guinea, highlighting the carrier’s commitment to exceed customer expectations with top-tier products and services.
Stanley welcomed Air Niugini to the Airbus FHS program, stating the partnership will ensure efficient operations and help unlock the full potential of the A220 fleet.
Airbus’ FHS offers airlines a cost-effective maintenance model that enhances aircraft availability through predictive tools, engineering expertise and a robust logistics network.
