The event brought together PNG's Foreign Minister Justin Tkatchenko, Shigeru Ishiba as envoy from Japan's leader, and Foreign Affairs State Minister Takuma Miyaji. Deliveries are slated for the Papua New Guinea Defence Force's engineering unit and the base in Lae.

Tkatchenko extended appreciation to Japan's leadership and populace, labeling the arrangement a groundbreaking step in armed forces support. "We must make sure that what we sign and what we agree is implemented immediately and not put on the shelves where it gathers dust and is forgotten," he urged.

Miyaji responded by pledging close collaboration to help PNG's military showcase its prowess for domestic and oceanic safety. He pointed out synergies with Japan's own defense training and Australian-led initiatives nearby. "We expect that this will synergize the capacity building assistance conducted by the Japan Ground Self Defence Force, as well as the cooperation activities carried out by Australia at the same location," Miyaji stated.

Reflecting on his stay, the Japanese official praised PNG's lush environments and diverse heritage, committing to greater strides in strengthening mutual relations.
