PNG Defence Force Launches New Online Recruitment System

Papua New Guinea – The Papua New Guinea Defence Force has taken a major step toward modernising its operations by launching a new online recruitment system, allowing applicants to submit their details from anywhere in the country. The initiative is expected to reduce years of delays associated with the manual process.

The Defence Ministry revealed that the shift to digital applications follows growing concerns over the difficulties faced by young people, particularly in rural areas, who struggled with the slow and outdated paper-based method.

Defence Minister Dr. Billy Joseph said the new platform represents a major improvement in efficiency. He explained that the old system made it challenging for interested applicants and placed large workloads on recruitment officers.

“For many years, our recruitment process has been slow and fully manual… Today, we are changing that,” Dr. Joseph said, noting that communities far from government services will now have equal access.

He added that the digital portal will allow applicants to upload documents, complete their submissions from their phones or computers, and undergo transparent screening.

The minister said the introduction of online recruitment also reflects the government’s commitment to expanding ICT use across public institutions. Interested applicants can now register through the portal at laborsolutions.net. or get more information on the recruitment requires on >> PNG Defence Force Recruitments
