Among the departing players were SP Hunters regulars Gairo Voro, Finley Glare, Epel Kapinias and Roberth Marthias, joined by Queensland Capras standout Morea Morea. Their send-off featured emotional scenes at the airport as relatives and Hunters management wished them well.

Their arrival in London will reconnect them with fellow Papua New Guinea international Jeremiah Simbiken, who has been part of the Broncos’ rebuilding program. The club’s recruitment drive has increasingly focused on PNG’s growing talent pool.

National coach Jason Demetriou has championed the strategy as part of a broader effort to raise the standard of the national team through overseas exposure.

All five players will head straight into pre-season preparations as the Broncos aim for a stronger campaign and a future return to the Super League.
