PNG University of Goroka Announces Acceptance List

Goroka, Papua New Guinea – The University of Goroka (UoG) has officially released the list of successful applicants for admission into the 2026 academic year. Applicants whose names do not appear on the list are advised to consider their applications unsuccessful due to ineligibility or limited spaces.

The 2026 acceptance list covers School Leavers, Non School Leavers, and other categories, and is available on the University’s official website at www.unigoroka.ac.pg
. Successful applicants will receive their official acceptance letters via email, and are encouraged to make the necessary arrangements promptly.

According to the University, new students are required to pay fees according to their enrolled programmes. Details of the 2026 fee schedule are outlined in offer letters and on the University’s website. Continuing students must settle any outstanding 2025 tuition fees and pay the 2026 compulsory fee component before registration. This includes students whose HELP Loan applications were unsuccessful in 2025.

The University has emphasized that all students must pay 100% of their fees by Wednesday, 13 February 2026. Students who pay the required fee component will be eligible for the HELP Loan Scheme. Corporate sponsors are also expected to meet the payment deadline. Payments are to be made into the University’s BSP Bank account, and online banking is encouraged. The University has warned that cases of fee-related fraud will be referred to the Police. All students are also required to own a laptop for online learning.

Registration for new students is scheduled from 16 to 20 February 2026, with orientation to follow from 23 to 27 February 2026. Continuing students will register between 23 and 27 February 2026, and Semester One lectures are set to begin on 2 March 2026.

Travel arrangements differ depending on sponsorship. Self-sponsored students are responsible for their own travel costs, while sponsored students will have their fares covered. Students under the Department of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology sponsorship must comply with the 16kg baggage allowance. The University advised students to contact the Student Welfare Division via kerengak@unigoroka.ac.pg
prior to travel. Late arrivals after 4 pm should contact Student Welfare or the University Security Office for assistance.

Due to earthquake damage to student residences in 2022, priority for on-campus accommodation will be given to female students on National Government TESAS scholarships and selected corporate-sponsored students, including DFAT, BEST, and Ok Tedi. Other students may be accommodated off campus within Goroka. Students assigned rooms will receive temporary ID cards for dining hall access and keys, which must be returned at the end of the year. Students are advised to bring blankets, pillows, and warm clothing due to the high altitude and cold climate in Goroka.

Boarding and lodging on campus is strictly available to School Leavers and continuing pre-service students under government sponsorships who have paid the full required fees. All outstanding 2025 fees must be settled before registration for the 2026 academic year.
