PNG Honours Fiji PM Rabuka in Special Recognition Ceremony
Fiji Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has been formally recognised in Papua New Guinea during a ceremony held in Port Moresby, where regional leaders and senior officials gathered to witness the honour being conferred.
The occasion drew attention from across government circles, with Prime Minister James Marape acknowledging Rabuka’s contribution to Pacific unity and leadership, describing him as a respected figure within Melanesia.

The recognition was presented by the Governor-General of Papua New Guinea during an official event attended by dignitaries and representatives from both countries. Photographs from the ceremony captured the moment Rabuka received the honour in the presence of state leaders.
Prime Minister Marape, in his remarks, praised Rabuka’s standing in the region and extended congratulations on behalf of Papua New Guinea.
“A great man of our Melanesia and Pacific is affirmed Chief of PNG. Chief Ratu S. Rabuka, Prime Minister of Fiji, is the embodiment of the rights of the people of the Pacific, and I join my people in congratulating him on this bestowment by PNG’s Head of State,” Marape stated.
