 PNG Chiefs Secure Three Kumuls Stars Ahead of Landmark 2028 Debut

The PNG Chiefs have strengthened their squad for their inaugural 2028 campaign by securing the signatures of PNG LNG Kumuls representatives Morea Morea, Gairo Voro and Finley Glare.

The announcement brings together three players who have risen through Papua New Guinea's domestic rugby league system before establishing themselves in England with the London Broncos, where they have enjoyed a standout season.

 

Morea, Kumul No.321, is from Papa village in Central Province, while fellow Central Province product Gairo Voro, Kumul No.322, comes from Viriolo village. Finley Glare, Kumul No.323, is from Lae in Morobe Province.

Before making the move overseas, the trio developed their careers in the Digicel ExxonMobil Cup, featuring for the Central Dabaris Rugby League and Lae Snax Tigers. Their consistent performances earned contracts with the SP PNG Hunters in the Queensland Cup before attracting interest from English club London Broncos.

The players joined the Broncos in late 2025 and have quickly become key contributors in the Betfred Championship.

Their combined tally of 61 tries has helped keep the Broncos undefeated throughout the 2026 season and on top of the Championship standings.

The Chiefs described the additions as an exciting step towards assembling a competitive squad for the club's first season.
