The training, delivered through the PNG-Australia Partnership in collaboration with Pacific Australia Skills, is designed to improve workforce capability by providing defence personnel with industry-recognised competencies and preparing them for national trade qualifications.
A total of 16 participants completed Level II Carpentry and Construction, while another 19 successfully graduated with Level I Automotive certification.
The graduation ceremony recognised the achievements of the participants after completing intensive hands-on training focused on practical workplace skills.
The initiative forms part of ongoing cooperation between Papua New Guinea and Australia to expand technical and vocational education opportunities for PNGDF personnel.
Officials said the program not only strengthens technical capacity within the Defence Force but also creates pathways for graduates to undertake national trade testing and gain recognised qualifications.
Graduates leave the course with practical skills that can be applied in their day-to-day responsibilities while contributing to the development of a more skilled and capable workforce within the PNGDF.
