PNG PM’s XIII Trails Australia 38-0 at Half-Time in Port Moresby

PNG Prime Minister’s XIII is trailing Australia’s Prime Minister’s XIII 38-0 at half-time in their international rugby league clash at the Santos National Football Stadium in Port Moresby today, October 3.

Australia has dominated the opening 40 minutes, scoring seven tries to take a commanding lead into the break, while the home side is yet to register a point. The match is still underway, with PNG facing a difficult challenge in the second half.

Ezra Mam opened the scoring for Australia in the third minute, followed by Billy Walters in the sixth minute and Jaxon Purdue in the ninth minute. Nick Meaney added another try in the 13th minute as the visitors continued their strong start.

Mam crossed for his second try in the 32nd minute before Thomas Hazelton extended the lead in the 35th minute. Tallyn Da Silva completed Australia's first-half scoring with a try in the 38th minute.

Meaney converted five of Australia's seven tries, adding points through successful kicks in the fourth, eighth, 33rd, 36th and 39th minutes.

PNG will look to regroup during the half-time break and produce a stronger performance in the remaining 40 minutes as the match continues in Port Moresby.
