Kiribati Government sets new Minimum Wage

The Decent Work Advisory Board (DWAB) of the Kiribati Ministry of Labor and Human Resources Development has endorsed the new Minimum Wage to be used in the country as part of the Employment Industrial Relations Code Act.

A report from Labor Ministry in Bairiki says the minimum wage for local businesses and companies is AUD$1.30 an hour while the minimum wage for overseas-funded projects is AUD$3.00 an hour.

The new minimum wage rate order will be implemented on November 1, 2016.
