INTERNATIONAL SPINNER JOINS PNG BARRAMUNDI's

Former Zimbabwe International Spinner, Paul Strang has joined the Barramundi's coaching team, as the assistant to current PNG Head Coach, Peter Anderson.

Strang comes onboard with a wealth of coaching experience, ahead of an important four months for the Barramundi's preparations into several important tournaments.

The Barramundi's are currently in Darwin, competing in the inaugural South Australia Cricket Association's Premier League, which will be followed by the I-C-C World T20 Qualifiers in November and then the 50 Over World Cup Qualifier, in January 2014.

Mr. Strang says, he's excited to be part of the team preparing for the upcoming tournaments, because his country was in a similar position P-N-G is currently in some years back and he now stands ready to assist.

He says, he stands ready to help the head coach prepare the team for the upcoming tournaments and hopes his playing experiences in New Zealand and Zimbabwe, will benefit P-N-G climb the world rankings and qualify for a world cup.

Strang begun his international career back in 1994 but it was cut short in 2001 when he was forced to retire from International Cricket due to a chronic muscular injury in his bowling hand after playing 24 tests and 95 ODI's for Zimbabwe where he was regarded as a fine all rounder.

He has also spent two seasons playing in England and later moving to New Zealand and coached the Auckland Aces in 2009, to win two domestic T20's and a one day title, before stepping down as coach in 2013.
