Treasurer Don Polye has broken his silence on the recent controversy over the issuance of Warrant of Arrest of him including Prime Minister Peter O'Neill and colleague Minister for Finance James over the Paul Paraka saga.
Despite being alleged in the Paraka saga, the Treasurer said the move was politically motivated by the opposition to discredit himself and the other two leaders.
In a meeting held in Port Moresby to announced the approval of the A-B-G's 2014 Budget, Treasurer Don Polye, responded, saying the warrant of arrest was politically motivated to discredit him and the two leaders.
"I do not want to add to the nonsense in the past week in relation to the politically motivated attempts to discredit myself and other political leaders. These matter are best addressed in the courts. I will say however, that I have stood shoulder to shoulder with the Prime Minister in pushing for the establishment of the Independent Commission Against Corruption and ensuring Budget funding for the Governments National Anti-Corruption Strategy"
The Opposition alleged Mr Polye to be part to the controversial payments of K71.8 million Kina to Paul Paraka Lawyers, for his role as the Treasury Minister.
