NAMAH GIVES TO CHURCHES

Opposition Leader Belden Namah has announced a 1-million Kina funding to churches in his Vanimo-Green River electorate, from his District Services Improvement Program or D-S-I-P-Funds.

Mr. Namah announced this at Vanimo Village when presenting a cheque of 50-thousand Kina for renovation work on the Saint Therese Parish Church building.

He said one tenth of the budget from the government should be allocated to the work of churches, because of their work in delivering services to places that the government cannot reach.

Mr. Namah says he wants to promote public-private partnership program with churches.

The Vanimo-Green River District only received 3-million from its 10-million Kina DSIP funding in 2013.
