CHOPPER FORCE LANDED WITH PNG PRIME MINISTER ON BOARD
A mechanical fault has forced the unplanned, emergency landing of a helicopter, carrying Prime Minister Peter O'Neil and a group of Ministers this week in East Sepik province.
Mr. O'Neil was in Yangoru on Wednesday, where he launched projects for the district.
Locals say Peter O'Neil and his high-powered delegation were appeared shaken by the experience.
A local villager and eye-witness told NBC News, with Mr. O'Neil, was local MP and Trade, Commerce and Industry Minster Richard Maru, Works and Implementation Minister Francis Awesa, Higher Education Minister Delilah Gore and Community Development's Loujaya Kouza.
The group was on their way back to Wewak from Yangoru station, when the chopper encountered problems, and was forced to land at the Ambuke Primary School, in the Numbo Local Level Government area.
A local said, another helicopter was quickly sought, which transported Mr. O'Neil and his ministers into Wewak.
The local also denied reports, that the helicopter crash-landed at the school.
