Vaki: Police intact and under his command

Acting Police Commision Geoffrey Vaki

Police Commissioner Geoffrey Vaki said, the force is intact under his command and will continue to carry out its duty to the Government and people of Papua New Guinea.

Mr. Vaki also thanked the Government for its confidence in appointing him to lead the force, saying he wants to re-shape it and contribute meaningfully to its various programs, during his term in office.

'' I dont believe in little faction or whatever, I am going to put my foot down and ensure that everybody is loyal to the commissioners office and the government of the day. We all too can do nothing but to uphold our constitution and serve our country without fear or favor. So that's the thing. I am a firm believer in good governance, I want to see discipline standards being maintained, I wan to see professionalism, bring back disciple , bring back standards, and make sure that we provide professional services that goes out to the people of this nation. "

Geoffrey Vaki made this statement in a press conference this afternoon at the Police Headquarter in Konedobu.
