WHP behind O'neill
A LONG time mayor of Mt Hagen City branded Prime Minister Peter O’Neill as a record breaker who visited small people in most remote areas of Papua New Guinea.
Mr Joe Tengen said that Mr O’Neill has and unbeaten record by a Prime Minister by visiting most districts and local level governments during his term and in doing so has touched the heart of many grassroots people in the village level.
Mr Tengen urged Papua New Guinea to not see the Paraka saga on face value, but critically analyze from a policy perspective in terms of the free education and primary health care under Mr O’Neill’s administration.
He said that as for the people of Western Highlands province and Governor Paias Winti are all behind the Prime Minister for this tremendous support to open up government coffers to fund the construction of the new Kapal house in Mt Hagen.
Mr Tengen said that when Mr O’Neill got into power more funding was made available to almost every district in the country which was unprecedented in the past.
He said that during the premier days as a young town mayor very little was heard of Prime Minister visiting remote districts around the country and most people never seen the face of a Prime Minister.
Mr Tengen said that Mr O’Neill is an action man and therefore the people of this country needed someone that can move the country forward to achieve the millennium development goals (MDGs).
He urged the people of Papua New Guinea to disregard taking sides in the Paraka saga because the matter is now before the courts and that is where they will prove him innocent or lay charges for the allegation
