The claims of grade 10 examination answer sheets being sold on the streets has been brushed aside by Education Secretary Dr Michael Tapo today.
Dr Tapo issued a warning to those who have bought the exam papers that they will fail their exams as the answers on the fraudulent papers are false.

He spoke at a media conference in Port Moresby today to clear the issue. Dr Tapo said department officials have confirmed that the papers do not contain the correct answers to the grade 10 examinations.

He further encouraged students to fully concentrate on their exams and not be side-tracked by the speculations being publicized.

Dr Tapo said Education Department officials have taken strict measures of security to ensure that the examinations are being distributed in schools across the country.

He said the process of conducting the exams will not be made public since it enables people to be aware of the measures taken.

Dr Tapo stated that those found selling false answer sheets will be arrested and prosecuted by law.

Meanwhile, the officers at Measurements Services Branch who writes the exams say  they are in possession of the alleged exam question papers and answer sheets. These exam papers and answer sheets sold on the streets are completely different from the actual examination question papers.
