Waipo is new PNG Correctional Services Commissioner

The Acting Correctional Service Commissioner Michael Waipo has been confirmed to the position by the National Executive Council (NEC).

 Minister for CS Jim Simatap  officially announced the Cabinet’s decision at the CS headquarters at Waigani in the presence of other jail commanders.

Minister Simatap said Waipo’s appointment as commissioner and department head was made by NEC on September 25.

Simatap said that it was an “executive government decision” which “received wide support of Cabinet members”.
