Pacific Games organizers deny budget blowout
The organizers of the 2015 Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea are denying reports of a budget blowout, saying preparations are reasonably on track, Radio Australia reports.
This response comes after PNG media report said the PNG Government has been asked for an extra A$176 million for the Games, as construction of most games venue is far from being completed.
But a visiting delegation from the Pacific Games Council, along with the organisers, say they are well within their budget limits, with full backing from the PNG Government, to ensure targets are being met.
