The BSP Games are taking place in Lae from 16th – 29th November and will see over 9,000 participants from more than 22 provinces gather for two weeks of competitive sports. The HOC is committed to taking PNG’s largest sporting event to a new level in 2014, with improved infrastructure and exciting new activities already in place. These improvements would not have been made possible without the government’s support with the National Government contributing K14 million and the provincial government K5 million to date.
Over K11.5 of the money received from the National Government has been used to assist with major infrastructure updates, including refurbishments to the main Sir Ignatius Kilage Outdoor, Indoor and Swimming Stadium.
Ambassadors such as Australian rugby legend Scott Prince, PNG sprinting star Toea Wisil and weight lifting champions Dika Toua and Livingston Sikoli have offered their full support and will be part of the Opening Ceremony extravaganza.
