Man beheads elder brother in the Solomon Islands

A man in his late 20s reportedly beheaded his elder brother following a dispute in the Solomon Islands, the Solomon Star reports.

The elder brother (deceased) has six children.

The newspaper says,  police responded swiftly after receiving an emergency call from Member of Parliament for Central Kwara’ae Jackson Fiulaua, who is originally from that village.

Malaita police commander Alfred Uiga confirmed that his officers were deployed early in the morning and arrested the suspect.

“My officers were sent to Okwala village and took in the suspect who willingly gave himself up to police,” Mr Uiga told the Solomon Star office in Auki.

He said the motive behind the killing is still unknown as police have just commenced investigations.
