'MICHAEL LEARNS TO ROCK' ROCKS PORT MORESBY

“We should have been here 25 years ago, guess we’re 25 years late,” These were the words from Mikkel Lentz, Lead guitarist and Producer of Michael Learns To Rock during their performance last night.
The Lamana Gold Club was jammed packed and overcrowded as the fans scrambled to get a glimpse of the Slow Rock/Pop band perform their popular Love tunes.
According to Lamana Hotel Security the gates were opened around 4:30pm in the afternoon and by 5pm the outside front area of the Hotel was full of people. By 8pm in the night the Club was filled to capacity but people were still allowed in between 9pm and 10pm. There was hardly enough space to move freely.
By 10:05pm MLTR walked onto the stage greeted by roars from the fans as they all erupted in unison. As soon as the Second number ‘Sleeping Child’ was sung, the crowd joined in singing together from the start to the finish and it was the same for all the songs they played.
“Let me tell you that PNG you are fantastic. This is by far or if not one of the best crowd that we’ve ever played in front of,” says Mikkel during the performance.
MLTR were quite surprised and taken aback by the reaction of the fans towards their music and songs because every songs was sang line for line by the crazy and psyched up crowd.
They perform popular numbers like Sleeping Child, Actor, Blue Night, Take Me To Your Heart, Nothing to Lose, Breaking My Heart and of course 25 Minutes that got the fans into a frantic mode as they sang along. At One stage during the Chorus of 25 Minutes, lead singer Jascha Richter stopped and let the fans to sing and complete the Chorus of the song.
Fans were happy saying it was worth the money they spend for the tickets and it was an awesome and exciting performance by MLTR. While some said finally it was about time they get to see MLTR perform live and this is an experience they will always remember.
