Deputy Opposition leader Sam Basil reacts on the KOUZA Stance
PNG Deputy Opposition Leader SAM BASIL is calling on the Member for Lae to attend the Provincial Assembly Meeting today as he says that National Politics should not creep into the provincial assembly as MOROBE at the Provincial Level has its own issues and problems to deal with.
MR Basil was reacting in a brief interview with PNG Village to reports on the media quoting LAE MP LOUJAYA KOUZA saying she would not attend the TUTUMENG meeting as she claimed that tomorrow’s meeting will be political in nature as she was privy to the political discussions on the proposed LAE City Authority BILL..
“Morobe Tutumang is not the opposition camp; it is not opposition versus the government! It is where the 10 MPs and the 33 LLG President's representing the Morobe people meet and discuss important issues on behalf of Morobe people.”BASIL said.
T he outspoken Opposition MP said that Lae City is the capital of Morobe, where it is essentially the capital of all the District in the Morobe Province when he was inferring that such issues of the LAE City Bill must be discussed by all Provincial Assembly Members.
“The LLG presidents do not sit in the national parliament in Waigani, their voices won't be heard there, Tutumang is where we Morobeans meet and discuss our issues.” BASIL added.
