PACIFIC GAMES COMMITTEE CALLS FOR VOLUNTEERS
A large number of people turned up at the Vision City Amphitheatre Port Moresby today to witness the official launching of the BSP Wantok Volunteer Programme by the Games Organising Committee and BSP. Majority of those people were made up of youths from all over Port Moresby.
Chair person for the Games Organising Committee, Mrs Emma Waiwai announced that they needed 3000 volunteers to assist them in 2015 Pacific Games.
‘’I must make it clear to all you interested youths present here that volunteers must be 18 years and above and must be willing to work under any circumstances” said Mrs Waiwai.
She further added “the 2015 Pacific Games will be a legacy that will go down in the history book and for those interested volunteers must understand how important this event is”.
Mean while, Sports Minister Justin Tkatchenko encouraged everyone to volunteer in the games whole heartedly.
“To be a volunteer in a big event like this in your own country shows how much you can contribute back to your country” said Minister Tkatchenko
