Air Niugini congretulates a staff member
Air Niugini Chief Executive Officer, Simon Foo has commended an airline staff member for her valuable contribution and loyalty to the airline.
Mr Foo presented the CEO’s commendation letter to Ms Pauline Tabua on Friday. Ms Tabua is Manager, looking after the airline’s interest at the Port Moresby International Terminal.
Mr Foo said Ms Tabua has proven to be both a competent and valuable person to Air Niugini by not only fulfilling her role on a daily basis but also using her initiative to providing support in customer services outside her normal line of duty.
He said “This was in itself an act of endearment to the company in upholding the image of care and attention given to our customers. Her dedication to duty beyond her normal line of work is impressive; we have received a lot of positive feedback from customers.”
Ms Tabua said she was only doing her work and did not expect to be recognized, however she thanked Air Niugini CEO and the management for recognizing her effort.
Pauline said she will continue to do her best to cater for the needs of customers and to ensure that the culture of serving customers is seen and felt in all areas within Air Niugini.
“ Customer service is very important and in order to retain customers , we must cater for the needs of customers, even if it means to do things out of what you would normally do. As you all know, good customer services is important for the success of any organization.” Ms Tabua said.
Ms Tabua is not new to Air Niugini, she worked with Air Niugini for thirty one (31) years. She started in 1984 as a ticketing and traffic officer at the airline’s office in Daru. Ms Tabua was transferred to Port Moresby in 1987 and has been here since. She worked in various areas within the airline including check-in counter, load control, Government liaison and airport operations where she worked as Customer Services Manager since 2009 to 2013,where she was promoted to Manager, Port Moresby International Terminal.
