European Union Delegation explores opportunities in Papua New Guinea

A European delegation is in the country to explore PNG and find out if they are able to trade and invest in the country.
Their visit will be from the 8th -12th of March and the visit is organized by the Investment Promotion Authority in collaboration with the PNG Embassy in Brussels, Belgium and with the support of the Department of State Enterprise, the Department of Trade, Commerce and Industry and the Department of Foreign Affairs.
The group is made up of company owners and board members of some of Europe’s top companies who were contacted by PNG’s Ambassador to Brussels, Joseph Kalinoe to consider a mission to PNG that could connect PNG to Europe in terms of Business.
Ambassador Kalinoe while speaking at the European welcome reception last night said the European mission to PNG is not about Politics or any other interest; it’s all about economic diplomacy.
“Economic diplomacy is becoming a major aspect of contemporary diplomatic work”
“PNG is a resourceful country and the Europeans would want to access that and the Europeans have alot of technology and the alot of expertise and experiences in building infrastructures, food and in nearly all aspects of doing business”
Mr Kalinoe pointed out that Europeans are very conscious of quality and are quality assurance when it comes to business.
“I hope that their visit to PNG will go well and that they might eventually decide to expand their business to PNG.”
