PNG Hunters may recall Gary Lo

Papua New Guinea SP Hunters club may call up Gary Lo after injury list at the club continues to mount. Hunters coach Michael Marum told Radio Australia that they are looking at options of recalling the one time leading try scorer in the Instrust Cup last year to the Hunters team.
Lo left the Hunters under a cloud after he was offered a contract to play in England, but after barely two months in the UK, he was back in PNG. However, his spot in the Hunters team was not granted after he left the team without informing the club formally.
Meanwhile Gary has not been named in the team that will face Tweed Heads Seagulls this weekend in Kokopo. The Hunters are preparing for this game well after they were beaten by the East Tigers last week.
Coach Michael Marum says the 14-8 loss to the Easts Tigers in last week’s Round 3 Queensland Cup fixture was a learning curve for his side. “We can take positives from that game,” Marum said.
“Easts are one of the clubs to beat this year because they’ve recruited well and are able to put up a quality side every week.
“We’ve got Tweed Heads this Sunday at home so we are looking forward to getting back on track with a better performance.” In team news, fast-improving Kato Ottio has been picked at the centres with Ase Boas, who will be coming off the bench to get a start alongside the young colossus in the three-quarters for this weekend’s Round 4 match.
Ottio, who did not disappoint when shifted to the backrow for the Tigers match, returns to his usual position after centres Thompson Teteh and Adex Wera, were both ruled out with rib fractures.
The Hunters dropped to third spot on the ladder but a win over the Seagulls should compensate.
Tweed Heads, who comfortably beat the Norths Devils 34-10 last week, are second on the table.
