PNG Hunters register second win in Intrust Super Cup

The Papua New Guinea SP Hunters have done it again, this time by beating the visiting team Redcliffe Dolphins at home soil.  The Hunters wasted no time to register two quick tries through Adex Wera in the first ten minutes.  Hunters halfback Roger Laka did not find the uprights in one of the tries and the Hunters took the early lead with 10 points. 

The Dolphins finally hit back in the 23rd minute  through Martin Cordwell  and halfback Luke Capewell converted for the visitors to creep closer to the Hunters, 10-6.
The Dolphins bagged their second try through Evander Cummins after a raid by the visitors saw the home team reeling.

Cummins stepped past the Hunters’ defenders and Capewell calmly slotted the conversion for the Dolphins to snatch the lead, 12-10.

The Hunters hit back in the late stages of the first half to retrieve the lead  20 - 12 with two tries.

In the second half, Dolphins were first to score to narrow the gap at 16 - 20. The Hunters responded with a try through Amean who dives over for his second try in the 72nd minute following a quick play the ball in the Dolphins 20 metre line. Captain Eliab failed to find the uprights and the Hunters lead 24- 16.  The Dolphins scored again with a converted try to stay within reach and trailed 24- 22.

The Hunters extended the lead with a converted try and and lead 30 - 22. Redcliff found some energy and responded with a try to narrow the lead to 30 - 26 but time ran out  and the Hunters won the game with 30 - 26 at full time.
