Garuahi Primary crowned champions of Term 1 School Cricket Blast in Milne Bay

Garuahi Primary School were crowned champions in Term 1 BSP School Kriket Blast competition in Milne Bay Province on Saturday.
They were victorious in the Under 15 boys division after beating Taupota in a thrilling round of matches played at Garuahi school oval in Alotau, Milne Bay Province.
Three schools participated in the blast namely Garuahi Primary School, Taupota Primary School and Huhuna Primary School.
In the Under 13 boys division, Taupota were declared the winners while for the girls Huhuna were crowned champions. Awards were then presented to each winning team.
In the Under 15 boys division matches saw the last year champions Garuahi Primary 1/37 easily chased down Taupota Primary 7/36 to win by six wickets while in the girls division Huhuna Primary School 1/32 defeated Garuahi 7/28 by 4 runs.
Milne Bay Regional Cricket Manager Simon Deiwillie said he was pleased with the schools that participated for this term 1 BSP School Cricket Blast.
“We had provided the opportunity for the schools to field teams in the two divisions of the competition which was very encouraging. Come next term of the competition we will look at increasing the number of schools to participate,” Deiwillie said.

Under 13 division boys- Taupota Primary School
Under 13 girls division- Huhuna Primary School
Under 15 boys division -Garuahi Primary School 1/37 defeated Taupota Primary School 7/36 6 wickets
Under 15 girls division –Huhuna Primary School 1/32 defeated Garuahi Primary School 7/28 by 4 runs.
