Fatal Car accident at Gordons

A fatal accident happened this afternoon and the Courts Shopping Centre at Gordons Roundabout when a Ford Fifth Element Vehicle belonging to an Indian crashed into the shopping centre’s gate hitting an elderly man believed to be from the Highlands region.

G4S Security Guards guarding the gates of Courts said the vehicle was traveling at high speed when its brakes failed forcing it to skew across the freeway towards the shopping centre’s main entrance.

The guards said it hit the elderly man who was coming out of Courts after purchasing gas for his house and the man fell breaking his head on the drive-in and was rushed to the Port Moresby General hospital.

They said the car crashed into the gate’s entrance and had its right front wheel damaged and the Indian driver was not injured and was taken into the shop for security reasons until the police arrived at the scene. 

The Highlander is currently in a very critical condition at the hospital. PNGFM
