Illegal car washing and unauthorized car parking in Port Moresby to be removed
National Capital District Commission is carrying out a lot of development projects in the city to beautify it and make Port Moresby a world class city for Papua New Guineans to be proud of.
NCDC have come up with a lot of projects such new bypass road constructions in the city to take care of the traffic congestion and a recent strategy is to have parking meters installed in the city.
According to NCDC Financial Controller/Advisor Mr Augustine Ravi, two contractors have already been shortlisted to carry on the project and the board will sit down this week to come up with a final recommendation and award the contract to the winning bidder.
He says the project should be in full swing most probably after the Pacific Games.
Meanwhile, the illegal roadside carwash along the Hohola Freeway opposite Bishop Brothers Engineering is causing inconvenience to the traffic flow at that area.
"NCDC city authorities have been made aware of this informal and illegal activity happening around the city and have advised those involved to stop as they will send out the police to those areas to stop this activity," said Mr Ravi.
He says such activities including unauthorised car parking are happening at the wrong places in the city and that the authorities will not tolerate such and their police unit will be sent out to those identified areas in the city to remove them.
