Mt Diamond Secondary School Principal speaks out on alleged rape video
The Mt. Diamond Secondary School Principal has cleared the air that reports of the rape incident involving students shown in a video uploaded on social media are not quite true.
Principal, Mr. Martin Seve said though it was unfortunate for the ones involved, the gathering, which lead to the alleged incident, was planned out by the six student involved; the three boys and three girls, on Tuesday 16th of June.
The sexual activity was discovered by a security guard near the school and quickly reported the matter. The girl was brought to the school where she was attended to, but the others ran away from the scene.
However, the matter was not reported to police at first because the school needed to consult with the parents of the students involved first and the other reason being that incident was not a rape incident.
“Acting upon the information we got at the time of the incident from interviews and statements, the activity that was done was actually planned out,” he said.
“It was planned out the day before the incident that one of the three boys would get alcohol from town and meet up with the others.”
“The fact that they intentionally went ahead and did it, there was no element of any forced activities.”
This information was later relayed to the police, including written statements and contact numbers of the students involved when they came to investigate the matter two days after the incident, following a report that must have been lodged by a concerned person.
Mr. Seve also stated that the report on media taken from Central Police stating that 15 male students gang raped a drunken school girl is misleading because investigators never got back to the him for more information after their first visit to the school.
Meantime, the six students were expelled last Tuesday on the grounds of consuming alcohol and engaging in improper activity during school time.
